CLASSIC TRACTION REVIEW 2013: Volume I (Parts 1 - 7) is the first volume in a commemorative set that reviews some of the many steam highlights of 2013, as filmed exclusively by the Classic Traction Film Crews over the length and breadth of the country. Volume I reviews the period from October 2012 to January 2013, and we begin by examining former Polish steam on the Avon Valley Railway, as Polish State Railways Ferrum Class TKh 0-6-0T 4015 Karel works between Avon Riverside and Oldland Common, over the former Midland route to Bath Green Park. Next, we visit Cornwall, as GWR 42xx 2-8-0T 4247 recreates a typical cornish china clay working and we see the iconic GWR Railmotor as she visits both the Bodmin General and Boscarne Junction branches on the Bodmin & Wenford. Next, we see the Autumn Fall in the Welsh Highlands, as we see Lynton & Barnstaple Manning Wardle 2-6-2T replica 190 Lyd working on the Festiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, but we also see a typical slate working of the 1880s recreated courtesy of FR 'Single Fairlie' 0-4-4T Taliesin, and we see 'Penrhyn Sisters' Linda & Blanche double-head through Rhiw Goch Woods! CLASSIC TRACTION REVIEW 2013: Volume III (Parts 14 - 23) is the third volume in a commemorative DVD set that reviews some of the many highlights of 2013, as filmed exclusively by the Classic Traction Film Crews. Volume III covers the period March - July 2013, and depicts many scenes and footage not released on other Classic Traction productions. This volume begins by examining the return to passenger traffic of the iconic 'Blue King' on the Great Central. Filmed during a series of specially arranged photo charters, we see the 'unstoppable 'King,' 6023 King Edward II, as she storms along the Great Central Main Line in a chilling winter-esque landscape, recapturing classic Western Region expresses from the 1950s, such as the 'Bristolian' and 'Cornish Riviera.' Next, we review main line steam action in the West, as we see SR 'Battle of Britain' 34067 Tangmere on the Atlantic Coast Express, we examine the epic 'Great Britain VI' in the Far West, as we see LMS Black Fives 45407 & 44871 work through Devon & Cornwall, including rare footage of daylight steam returning to the Luxulyan Valley on the Newquay branch. Volume IV covers the period July - September 2013, and depicts many scenes and footage not yet available on other Classic Traction Video Productions. This volume begins by examining Summer steam operations on the former GWR 'Holiday Line' to Kingswear, and depicts the Dartmouth Steam Railways 'flagship,' ex BR (WR) 78xx 'Manor' 4-6-0 7827 Lydham Manor, as well as GWR 50xx 'Castle' 4-6-0 5029 Nunney Castle and SR 'West Country' 7P5F 4-6-2 34046 Braunton on the 'Torbay Express' workings. Next, we head to Kent, and review the rarely filmed and privately owned Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway, as well as the Industrial narrow gauge Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway. Heading west to Sussex, we review the Bluebell's first Summer season of operations over their new extension to East Grinstead, depicting SECR Class H 0-4-4T 263, Class C 0-6-0 563, Class P 0-6-0T 323 Bluebell and GWR / London Transport 55xx 2-6-2T Prairie L150 (5521). Finally, we conclude this volume by examining the iconic Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, where we see RHDR Pacifics No. 1 Green Goddess, No. 2 Northern Chief and No. 7 Typhoon at work on this 15 inch gauge main line - Kent's last true steam worked main line - albeit in miniature!
