CLASSIC TRACTION REVIEW 2011 - Volume II is the second volume in a new groundbreaking video journal from Classic Traction that covers all the latest developments during the railway year. In this second volume, covering the early summer of 2011, we cover such events as the return to traffic of GWR Steam Railmotor No. 93 on the Llangollen Railway, a sight that has not been seen on a Great Western line for over 75 years. Built at Swindon in 1908, No. 93 is the only survivor of the GWR's fleet of 99 railmotors, and we see her as she makes her first tentative steps in preservation. Next, we review the visit of GWR 'Dukedog' 4-4-0 9017 to the South Devon in April 2011, and the highly successful 'Cambrian' themed gala, which featured former Cambrian route locomotives such as GWR Collett 32xx 0-6-0 3205 and GWR Prairie 55xx 2-6-2T 5526, faithfully recreating such iconic workings as the 'Cambrian Coast Express' and Dolgellau auto workings. Southern steam is not forgotten, as we see LSWR T9 'Greyhound' 4-4-0 30120 & LSWR Beattie 2-4-0WT 30587 as they recreate workings to Padstow & Wadebridge from the 1950s. We continue our West Country theme as we review main line steam through Devon & Cornwall, as LMS Black Five 45305 & BR Standard 7MT 'Britannia' Pacific 4-6-2 70013 Oliver Cromwell pass through the Glynn Valley and cross St Pinnock Viaduct with the 'Great Britain IV' charters. Later, we see the 'Five' and 'Brit' as they cross Clinnick Viaduct and climb Hemerdon bank with the 'Royal Duchy' charter. Finally, and as if all of this wasn't enough, we conclude by reviewing the entry into traffic of BR blue liveried 'King' 6023 King Edward II at Didcot.
