Wadebridge returns to Bodmin
WADEBRIDGE RETURNS TO BODMIN is a tribute DVD of SR 'West Country' 7P5F 4-6-2 Bullied 'light' Pacific 34007 Wadebridge to the Bodmin & Wenford during May 2014. North Cornwall was once dominated by the lines of the former Southern Railway from Halwill Junction to Wadebridge and Padstow, and the return of 34007 Wadebridge was marked by a special Southern Region themed gala, capturing all the charm and essence of the network of 'Withered Arm' lines in Cornwall during the 1950s and 1960s. As well as the return of 34007 Wadebridge, which was making its first visit to Bodmin since her restoration on the line in 2006, we also see LSWR T9 'Greyhound' 4-4-0 30120 and GWR 64xx 0-6-0PT 6435. Southern express locomotives on the main line is also included, as we see SR 'Battle of Britain' 34067 Tangmere storming over the banks through Devon & Cornwall with the 'Royal Duchy,' in scenes reminiscent of Southern Region named expresses of the 1960s which once headed to the Far West. For all those who remember the Southern and the 'Withered Arm' network of lines of Devon and Cornwall with affection, then this highly evocative DVD is the one for you! RUNNING TIME: TBC. The Return of 'Calbourne'
THE RETURN OF 'CALBOURNE' is a tribute DVD to the historic and ground-breaking visit of Adams designed LSWR Class 02 0-4-4T tank W24 Calbourne, which made its historic visit to the Bodmin & Wenford Railway in Cornwall during April 2012, which was making her FIRST EVER visit to the mainland in almost 90 years! This DVD examines in detail Calbourne's historic three day visit to Cornwall, when she became the first LSWR Class 02 to work in the West Country in 50 years, as we see Calbourne working with other classic LSWR locomotives, such as the iconic LSWR T9 'Greyhound' 4-4-0 30120 and 1874 veteran Beattie 'well tank' 30587 as they tackle the line's 1 in 37 gradients. We see Calbourne as she recreates local Cornish Southern scenes from the 1950s, as she hauls local and mixed passenger trains between Bodmin Parkway and Boscarne Junction, highly reminiscent of workings along the North Cornwall line to Padstow and Wadebridge. In addition, we examine Calbourne at work on the Isle of Wight, her home since 1925, as we see her working period LSWR stock in crisp and beautiful autumnal surroundings, as we see her working between Smallbrook Junction and Wootton. This DVD is a wonderful reminder of this historic visit, and will make a fine addition to any Classic Traction Collection! RUNNING TIME: 58 mins. PRICE: £19.99 + £3 P&P.

Along London & Brighton Lines
ALONG LONDON & BRIGHTON LINES is an investigation of some of the surviving examples of locomotives that were built at Brighton by the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway (LBSCR), Southern Railway and BR (SR). Filmed almost exclusively on the Bluebell Railway, we examine the diminutive LBSCR Class A1X 'Terriers' to the Billinton designed E4 0-6-2Ts, to the mighty and powerful Bulleid Pacifics, to the final steam class to emerge from Brighton Works, the BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T '80xxx' tanks, as represented by 80151. This programme also includes the Bluebell's Branch Line weekend in February 2008, which celebrated the final steaming of E4 32473, but which also included the first visit of a GWR auto tank to the line, in the form of GWR 14xx 0-4-2T 1450. This DVD concludes with a feature on the world famous 'Golden Arrow,' as it traverses the Folkestone Harbour branch with SR 'Battle of Britain' 7P5F 4-6-2 Pacific 34067 Tangmere, returning through the glorious Kent countryside!
