Classic Traction Photographic-DVDs
WHAT ARE PHOTOGRAPHIC-DVDs?
Classic Traction is pleased to be able to announce the launch of a new range of Photographic-DVDs. Photo-DVDs are produced in precisely the same way as our popular range of traditional film (ie video) DVDs, but instead of moving video film, each DVD contains approximately 100 rare and historic colour images from the Classic Traction Images archive. The DVD is then played in the traditional manner, either via a DVD player, lap-top or computer, and watched as a traditional slide show. The images have been carefully selected from our vast archives, and we hope you enjoy watching them as much as we have enjoyed producing them.
Yours Faithfully
Steve Andrews

The Swindon Westerns: D1000 - D1029
THE SWINDON WESTERNS: D1000 - D1029 is the first volume in a new range of photographic-DVD albums from Classic Traction. Observed through the lens of local railwayman & photographer Bernard Mills, this new & improved twin pack DVD photo-album contains over 120 wonderful images of the class 52 'Western' diesel-hydraulics that were built at Swindon between November 1961 and July 1964. Each of the thirty Swindon built 'Westerns' is examined in detail, from the iconic D1000 Western Enterprise to D1029 Western Legionaire, covering the period 1965 to their sad demise in February 1977. In this photographic DVD we see such nostalgic images as D1004 Western Crusader in original BR green, to maroon D1010 Western Campaigner meeting Crewe built sister D1040 Western Queen at Rattery, whilst running 'wrong line' due to single line working, to the 'Westerns' in their final BR blue years, and the inevitable rundown of the hydraulic fleet. The reproduction of Bernard's slides is incredible, some of which are rapidly approaching 50 years old, and we are sure that this album will soon be regarded as a classic, for those who wish to remember the diesel-hydraulics in their halcyon days! Following on from the success of the initial production run, we are pleased to launch this new and improved second edition, which has now been issued as a twin-pack DVD set covering 124 classic images of the iconic Swindon built 'Westerns' as photographed by legendary photographer Bernard Mills during the 1960s & 1970s. This photo-DVD is an absolute must for all fans of the iconic 'Westerns!'
